STARTING YOUR NOVEL
WELCOME TO STARTING YOUR NOVEL
Next 10-week online novel-writing course starts Wednesday 18th September 2024.
About the Course
Want to start writing a novel? You've come to the right place. My 10-week online class will help you kick-start your book, giving you the confidence to find and shape an idea, write a first draft and learn the steps required to take an idea from draft to publication.

I have been running this class since 2020 and, in four years, it has inspired several procrastinating writers to finally get going, helped dozens of students to complete first drafts, and encouraged several to apply for and start MAs in Creative Writing. What are you waiting for?
Hello
My name is Dr Louise Tucker
I am an editor, tutor and writer. I have twenty years’ experience in commercial publishing (working at HarperCollins, Bloomsbury and Granta) and I now edit part-time. I have taught writing at Goldsmiths and publishing at London Metropolitan University and I was a reader for the Costa Short Story Award throughout its existence.
In the last few years I have written my first novel; it won the PFD Lost the Plot Prize in 2019 and has been shortlisted for The Bath Novel Award in both 2019 and 2022 and the Cheshire Novel Prize in 2022.
Geri, London
Louise's writing course has provided a brilliant escape during lockdown. The group discussions have shaped my story and I have established a daily writing routine. I've gone from complete beginner to a plot, structure, characters and 10 thousand words in just 10 weeks...

Louise's teaching style is engaging, smart and funny which creates a real sense of community amongst you and your peers which is no easy feat on Zoom. After being disappointed by many online courses, I'm happy to say that 'Starting Your Novel' was by far my favourite in terms of investment and experience. Just take it!

Being immersed in this class and writing this year has been a total escape. I've done other writing classes before but I've never had as good an experience as this. I feel completely galvanised not only to finish this one but to write books forever.
